As part of its commitment to NI Hospice, Delta staff will participate in a number of activities throughout the course of the next 12 months, starting with a company-wide clothes, toys, book, CD & DVD collection week in December. Second hand donations will be used to support fundraising through the NI Hospice charity shop in Andersonstown; whereas, staff have also been asked to donate a small toy, CD, book or DVD which will be shared out during the Christmas Party at the Children’s Hospice on O’Neill Road, Newtownabbey.
Delta Packaging has already printed and donated 10,000 collection boxes for NI Hospice. In 2015, staff will be involved in a variety of fundraising events for NI Hospice including the Belfast Marathon, Coffee Mornings and street collections. Delta has also set up its own “Just Giving” page so that anyone who wishes to offer their support can donate online using the following link http://www.justgiving.com/CSR-Delta
Terry Cross, Delta Packaging Chairman, said:
“We have a great tradition of supporting local schools, charities and community groups over the years. More recently, however, we have made it a key focus for our business to involve all staff from across the company to engage in fundraising initiatives and community activities, such as our quarterly clean-up at the Bog Meadows. NI Hospice is a charity which I am sure a lot of our staff can relate to; also, we recognise that we employ over 200 people from West Belfast and beyond, therefore, we have the numbers to be able to manoeuvre large support, which I am sure is well appreciated by the families and patients.”
Ellen Hillen, Corporate Fundraising Manager, NI Hospice commented,:
“We are delighted that Delta Packaging has chosen NI Hospice as its Charity of the Year for 2015. Hospice supports over 3,000 patients and their families every year, providing relief from pain and distress. In Northern Ireland 1 in 3 people will have been touched by Hospice care.
“2015 is an important year for the charityas the new NI Hospice takes shape. The support of leading companies such as Delta Packaging is vital in helping us maintain local Hospice services and we are looking forward to working with all the staff on a successful partnership over the next twelve months”.
