Delta Team Do Their Bit On National Clean-Up Day

On National Clean-up Day, Saturday 13th September 2014, Delta Packaging sent a team of 18 volunteers to the Bog Meadows, West Belfast, for the 2nd time this year to take-part in a much-needed litter collection.

Representatives from all across the company came together to carry out the clean-up as part of Delta Packaging’s commitment to the “Adopt a Spot” scheme in Northern Ireland. Working in partnership with Ulster Wildlife Trust, Keep Northern Ireland Beautiful and Wastebeater, the team of willing volunteers collected a wide range of surplus materials such as broken glass, used metals, plastic bottles, old fencing, worn tyres, 2 x burnt out bicycles and even an old moped.

As part of our agreement with Wastebeater, who kindly provided a skip for the clean-up, all of the rubbish collected was taken to their West Belfast sorting plant to be separated, weighed and recycled where possible.

A big thank you to all of our employees who took part – a loud message to our local community that we are a good neighbour and are willing to play out part in keeping Northern Ireland tidy.
